About

Although I studied art at school, I am largely self taught and have been painting seriously for over ten years now.

I like to paint landscapes of places that are unusual and less discovered. I don’t aim to produce a completely realistic image, but rather to bring out the intrinsic atmosphere and drama of a place. I am especially drawn to locations that have a story, or suggestion of a story or history, attached to them.

I work mostly in oil and start by making a drawing and taking photos for reference. I then work on a design which often distorts or changes the landscape in some way and then make a painting from this.

As well as paintings I also sell giclee prints – which can be created from any painting on request.
